Description: Rectangular brass plaque shaped as a marble sepulchre using trompe-l'oeil technique, with pinnacles, columns and lunettes. The upper central part has a "merlatura" while in the lower part there are some inlaid letters (INRI) and decorations which recall the cosmatesque style.
Inscription: IN MEMORY OF/ MAJOR JOHN FRANCIS FISHER CAPTAIN ROYAL GARRISON/ ARTILLERY COMMANDING 2ND RAILWAY PIONEER/ REGIMENT KILLED IN ACTION NEAR BOTHAS KRAAL/ TRANSVAAL ON NOVEMBER 20TH 1901/ ERECTED IN LOVING MEMORY BY HIS COMRADES/ OF NO. 7 COMPANY 1ST RAILWAY PIONEER REGIMENT/ OF WHICH HE WAS PREVIOUSLY CAPTAIN 1899 - 1901
