OF THE DORSETSHIRE REGT/ ELDEST AND LAST SURVIVING SON OF GEORGE TALBOT COX/ OF WEST NORWOOD SURREY/ AND OF MARY ELIZABETH HIS WIFE/ AND GRANDSON OF ROBERT COX HIS WIFE/ FORMERLY OF RODWELL IN THIS PARISH/ KILLED NEAR ST ELOI ON THE MORNING OF THE 15TH FEB. 1916/ IN THE GREAT EUROPEAN WAR/ WHILST IN THE ACT OF RESCUING A WOUNDED SOLDIER OF THE LINCOLNSHIRE REGT./ AGED 25 YEARS./ HIS BODY RESTS IN A SOLDIERS GRAVE/ NEAR THE VILLAGE OF VOORMEZEELE, IN WESTERN FLANDERS.
