    IN DEEP THANKFULNESS/TO ALMIGHTY GOD/FOR REST FROM THE GREAT WAR/1914-1919/FOR THE GLORIOUS SHARE OF OUR EMPIRE IN WINNING THE/VICTORY, FOR THE UNTIRING SERVICE OF THE MEN & WOMEN/OF COULSDON AT HOME AND ABROAD, AND, ABOVE ALL, FOR THE/DEVOTION OF THOSE WHO YIELDED THEIR LIVES DYING THAT/WE MIGHT LIVE, AND WHOSE NAMES ARE HERE INSCRIBED,/THIS STONE IS DEDICATED
