Inscription: IN LOVING AND DEVOTED MEMORY OF A VERY PERFECT SON AND BROTHER MAJOR THOMAS DAVID/ FREEMAN-MITFORD THE QUEEN'S WESTMINSTER'S WHO DIED IN BURMA ON GOOD FRIDAY 30 MARCH/ 1945 OF WOUNDS RECEIVED IN ACTION ON THE PREVIOUS SATURDAY WHILE ATTACHED AS 2ND IN/ COMMAND TO THE DEVONSHIRE REGT. AGED 36. THE ONLY SON OF LORD AND LADY REDESDALE. GOD CARETH FOR US.
