    WW1-Brass Plaque, mounted on a wood pattress. This is the higher of two plates mounted on the same board. In the centre top of each is an embossed and enamelled copy of the school badge, with the appropriate date on either side of the badge, written in Gothic lettering. The names are listed in three columns, with a vertical line between each column, using sans serif capitals. WW2-Identical Brass Plaque

    • Alan Grint has researched the names on the Hexham memorials in his book The Faith and Fire Within, 2006, Ergo Press ISBN 0955275814
    • Hexham Courant 14/8/2015 feature “50 years ago” reports that In 1965 Hexham’s Queen Elizabeth Grammar School appealed to its Old Boy’s Association to raise £100 to enable war memorials dedicated to ex-pupils to be transferred from the old school to the new premises in Whetstone Bridge Road.
