Of the £6,500 subscriptions £2,000 was from the Red Cross Society and the Order of St John of Jerusalem Ambulance Association. The Hospital had cost £3,400 and £500 was reserved for the Memorial outside (see separate report). The balance of the funds was reserved to give an iincome of c £250 per year for the running of the hospital

Originally the hospital was on a 21 year lease from Haltwhistle Rural District Council

Maintenance History

The old hospital was closed and demolished in 2010. A brand new hospital opened on the same site (and still called the War Memorial Hospital) in 2014.
