Description
WALL-MOUNTED NOWY-HEADED BRASS PLAQUE. INCISED BLACK LETTERING. WOODEN BACKBOARD. There is a double line border around the edge culiminating in a fleur-de-lis in the corners. Inside the dome is a plain red cross encircled by a wreath. The first three lines of the dedication are in Gothic script as is the quotation at the bottom. The rest of the dedication is in elongated Roman capitals as are the names, with the villages of origin in lower case lettering

TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND/ IN PROUD AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF/ THE MEN OF THIS CHURCH/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1919/ (NAMES)/ GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A/ MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS/"YE THAT HAVE ESCAPED THE SWORD-REMEMBER THE LORD"
