    • Somerset Standard - Friday 17 December 1920 VOBSTER. WAR MEMORIAL.— The unveiling of a brass tablet at St. Edmund's, Vobster, was a very impressive and solemn ceremony, and there was a full congregation. The Rev. K. C. Jackson, M.C., Vicar of Norton St. Philip (a former cura te of Mells and Vobster), unveiled the tablet, which was erected by subscriptions from the villagers. The tablet is mounted on black marble, and the inscription reads : "To the memory of Thomas King, Charlps King, Edward Vranch, Herbert Vranch, Gilbert James, Edward James and Charles Fricker. Special hymns were used for the occasion. The Rev. E. D. Lear (rector of Mells and Vobster) conducted the service, and the Rev. K. C. Jackson preached from the words, "Others have laboured, and we have entered into their labours." The offertory was for the wounded soldiers' fund.
