Description: An elaborate plaque, the main element rectangular and containing the dedication and names, the longer axis vertical, surmounted by a further rectangular panel containing a crucifix with the figure of Christ in black. The background is purple, and the lettering gold. Surrounding the panels is a wide border with gold rosettes at intervals. The top of the panels is surmounted by gold finials. STEPPED TOP DECORATED WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF GILDED FINIALS
Inscription: REMEMBER YE IN THE LORD/ THESE MEN OF OSWALDKIRK/ WHO WENT FORTH IN THE/ SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY/ DURING THE YEARS OF THE/ GREAT WAR AD 1914 - 1919/ AND RETURNED NOT AGAIN/ (NAMES)/ REQUIESCANT IN PACE
