    Semi-circled plinth supporting three nude male figures representing 'the fallen', 'the wounded' and 'victory'. Centre figure standing with raised right hand whilst flanking figures are seated. Inscriptions incised into plinth below centre figure.

    1971: Relocated to site beside Town Hall from Peace Memorial Hospital. 2012/2013: War Memorials Trust offered a grant of c£5,000 for the conservation of the memorial. The conservation works included lightly cleaning the memorial all over, removing bronze staining from the Portland stone plinth, and carefully ensuring the uniformity of the patina on the statues and protecting them with microcrystalline wax.

    • Watford Observer 8 Feb. 2013 English Heritage and the Wolfson Foundation have awarded a grant of £5167 towards estimated costs of cleaning and repairs of £10335. The work is scheduled to take place over the next few months.
