    • Country Life 7 November 2012 pp.52-54 The original plan was an offer by the squire (Tom Radford) to give the Reading Room to the village to turn it into a War Memorial Institute with tablets commemorating the fallen. Only £175 of the required £500 was raised and it was decided to erect a cross instead.
