    Granite obelisk surmounts granite plinth which bears names and inscription in incised lettering.

    South face: TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN EVER HONOURED REMEMBRANCE OF THE MEN OF CROSS STONE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 North face: GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS./ (Names)
