Description: Stone figure of a King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry soldier holding a bayonet surmounts square-set stone plinth. Plinth bears names and inscription in incised black lettering. Stepped stone base. Whole is set in a small, triangular memorial garden.
Inscription: ERECTED IN DEEPEST GRATITUDE TO ALL WHO FOUGHT FOR US IN PROUD MEMORY OF THOSE WHOSE NAMES ARE INSCRIBED HEREON 1914-1919/ (Names)/ THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE/ 1939-1945/ (Names)

Maintenance History: Repaired and bayonet replaced August 2004. A replica of the original bayonet was made by Douglas Blackhall, engineer and chairman of Blackhall Engineering, using stainless steel plate and teak.
