    • Liverpool Daily Post - Friday 09 November 1917 (page 6) printed a photo of Raymond Leventon, with the following report: 'FALLEN HEROES. SECOND-LIEUTENANT RAYMOND S. LEVENTON, R.F.C. The late "Paddy" Leventon, who had been ordered to leave with his squadron for the French Front to-day, was educated at Greenbank School, Liverpool, and at Mostyn House, Parkgate. He commenced his military training at Christ Church, Oxford. Appointed to the Flying Corps, he obtained his commission in May, 1917, and his “wings” and pilot’s certificate in August. He was flying over the sea for gun practice a few days ago when his machine appeared to suddenly collapse, owing apparently to the breaking of a wing, and he and his observer fell into the sea with the wreckage of the machine and sustained fatal injuries. Lieutenant Leventon was nearly 19 years of age; a most brilliant pilot, richly endowed with that pluck and daring which has made the British Air Service what it is, and he knew no fear. He was the elder son of Mr. Herbert Leventon, of Huyton, chairman of the Liverpool Exchange Company, and a grandson of the late Mr. E. C. Leventon, former director of the company and-an ex-chairman of the Liverpool Conservative Club'. https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000649/19171109/135/0006
