    • Liverpool Echo - Friday 26 May 1922 (page 7) reported: 'UNIQUE SCHOOL MEMORIAL. A war memorial, unique in this part of the country, was dedicated by the Bishop of Chester (Dr. Paget) at Mostyn House School, Parkgate, yesterday. It takes the form of a carillon of 31 bells, hung over the belfry of the school chapel, and is in memory of 83 old boys who fell in the war. The bells, the heaviest of which is about one and a half tons in weight, have been cast and fixed by Messrs. Taylor, of Loughborough, and have been erected at a cost of about £3,000, subscribed by parents of past and present friends and old boys of the school. The carillon is in chromatic sequence, except the two lowest bells, which are a tone apart. Ultimately it will be extended to comprise thirty-six bells. Tunes are played from a keyboard built in the first-floor room of the belfry, and several selections were played yesterday by M. Antoine Nauwpherts, the city carillonneur of Bruges'. https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000271/19220526/166/0007
