Description
Very large carved oak reredos with centrepiece of Christ crucified on a WW1 battlefield, with a soldier lying dead or wounded at his feet. Flanked by two carved figures, one male holding staff and book, the other female holding candle and book. Associated plaque on wall nearby.

ON REREDOS: GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS/THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS ON PLAQUE: THE REREDOS WAS ERECTED TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN/ LOVING MEMORY OF THE MEN FROM THIS CHURCH AND PARISH/ WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919
