- IN LOVING MEMORY OF/CAPTAIN CHARLES WILLIAM EARLE/BORN JULY 1ST 1828 DIED JUNE 7TH 1897/NEAR COBHAM SURREY. HE SERVED/WITH THE 60TH RIFLES IN THE KAFFIR/WAR OF 1851-2 & WITH THE RIFLE BRIGADE/IN THE INDIAN MUTINY BEING PRESENT/AT THE RELIEF OF LUCKNOW IN 1858./HIS WIFE MARIA THERESA & HIS THREE SONS/SYDNEY, LIONEL & MAXWELL HAVE ERECTED THIS TABLET.
