Inscription: BASE OF LEFT LIGHT: GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A/ MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS TOP OF RIGHT LIGHT: WELL DONE THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT BASE OF RIGHT LIGHT: BE THOU FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH AND I/ WILL GIVE THEE A CROWN OF LIFE BRASS PLAQUE: IN THANKFUL REMEMBRANCE OF HUBERT HAMMOND MASSEY/ SERGEANT 10-TH (SCOTTISH) KING'S LIVERPOOL REGIMENT/ KILLED IN ACTION IN THE HEROIC CHARGE OF THE LIVERPOOL SCOTTISH/AT HOOGE, FLANDERS, JUNE 16TH 1915/ THIS WINDOW WAS ERECTED BY HIS PARENTS, GEORGE MASSEY, OF THIS PARISH/ COMMANDER R.D., R.N.R. AND SAIDY HIS WIFE PLAQUE ON LEFT HAND REVEAL OF WINDOW: 1914 STAR/ THE 1914 STAR IS SENT IN MEMORY/ OF SERGEANT MASSEY'S SERVICE/ WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCES/ EMPLOYED IN FRANCE AND BELGIUM/ BETWEEN THE OUTBREAK OF WAR AND/ MIDNIGHT 22ND/23RD NOVEMBER 1914/ AND IN FORWARDING THE DECORATION/ TO HIS PARENTS IT IS COMMANDED/ BY THE KING TO ASSURE THEM OF/ HIS MAJESTY'S HIGH APPRECIATION/ OF THE SERVICES RENDERED.
