- BOROUGH OF BOOTLE/ 1914-1918/ IN MEMORY OF OLD SCHOLARS OF LINACRE/ SCHOOL WHO HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES FOR/ THEIR COUNTRY/ HONOUR TO THE IMMORTAL DEAD, THAT GREAT WHITE/ COMPANY OF SHINING SOULS WHO GAVE THEIR YOUTH/ THAT THE WORLD MIGHT GROW OLD IN PEACE./ THESE NOBLY PLAYED THEIR PARTS, THESE HEARD/ THE CALL FOR GOD AND KING AND HOME. THEY GAVE/THEIR ALL./ (NAMES)/ PARENTS,SCHOLARS, FRIENDS AND TEACHERS OF/THE SCHOOL ALSO ENDOWED A BED AT THE BOOTLE/BOROUGH HOSPITAL IN MEMORY OF THE ABOVE OLD/SCHOLARS JUNE 1919.
