Description: Classical figure of Peace (?) on plinth and base, holding out a laurel wreath. Plaques around each side of plinth. Wreath with portcullis in centre at top of plinth. The robed figure is crowned with a laurel wreath, and holds a scroll in the left hand, and a laurel wreath in the outstretched right hand.
Inscription: TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOURED AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN OF WALLINGFORD WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919. THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE/PASS NOT THIS STONE IN SORROW/NO SORROW BUT IN PRIDE/AND STRIVE TO LIVE/AS NOBLY AS THEY DIED (Base): 1939-1945 West Face: (Names) / (Names) South Face: (Names) / (Names) East Face: (Names) / (Names)
