    Description
    Classical figure of Peace (?) on plinth and base, holding out a laurel wreath. Plaques around each side of plinth. Wreath with portcullis in centre at top of plinth. The robed figure is crowned with a laurel wreath, and holds a scroll in the left hand, and a laurel wreath in the outstretched right hand.
    Inscription
    TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOURED AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN OF WALLINGFORD WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919. THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE/PASS NOT THIS STONE IN SORROW/NO SORROW BUT IN PRIDE/AND STRIVE TO LIVE/AS NOBLY AS THEY DIED (Base): 1939-1945 West Face: (Names) / (Names) South Face: (Names) / (Names) East Face: (Names) / (Names)
