    Description
The memorial is in two parts. The first part is formed of a square pedestal surmounted by a winged figure depicting the Angel of Peace bearing on her left arm the child of the future. In her left hand she holds aloft an olive branch, a symbol of peace. A bronze relief panel is placed on the front face of the pedestal depicting a serviceman who has given his life for the cause. He is being crowned by immortality who kneels at his head. At his feet kneels a widow and next to her stands a child who represents the fatherless. These two figures bring their tribute of remembrance. Panel is the same as ones on the Warrington South African War memorial and the Pershore war memorial. Winged wall with names carved on it is placed to the side of it. Dedicatory plaque placed at the top of the centre section of the wall. Above it is the Town crest flanked by two Maltese Crosses. The town crest used to be painted but is now plain. Seats placed in either wing with a metal railing placed across the back of the wall.
