    Memorial was in the centre of the village, across from the village pub. It was moved when the road was widened. Widening occured for a housing project and drainage scheme.

Architectural interest: * it is a dignified memorial in the form of a rough-hewn Cornish granite Celtic wheel-head cross in a prominent position, which provides a fitting tribute to the fallen. Group value: * the memorial has spatial group value with the Grade II-listed Church of St John the Evangelist and Ashton Village Hall.
