    Description
    The memorial is set within a circular paved area with a brick, sandstone and fence-railed boundary. Three-stepped square sandstone base surmounted by square plinth with tapered square shaft and cross above. The shaft has decorative carved turrets at each corner and there is a sword carved in relief on the front of the shaft. Bronze plaque with inscription on front face of plinth with further inscribed marble tablets placed at intervals on boundary wall behind cross.

    Cross Plaque: FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH/ 1914 - 1918/ THEY SHALL GROW NOT OLD AS WE THAT ARE LEFT GROW OLD;/ AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM NOR THE YEARS CONDEMN:/ AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND, IN THE MORNING -/ WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. Tablets: REMEMBER/ WITH THE MEN OF NORTHWICH/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR FREEDOM/ IN TWO GREAT WARS/ THEIR COMRADES IN ARMS/ WHO DIED IN THE SAME CAUSE/ AND FOUND IN THIS CEMETERY/ AN HONOURABLE RESTING PLACE/ 1914 - 1918 1939 - 1945/ (Names...)
