    Description
    Square base surmounted by two-stepped plinth, pedestal and a figure of a soldier wearing greatcoat and cap standing in mourning pose. Dedicatory inscription on the front face of the pedestal. Memorial is enclosed by a low wall with 12 pillars and on each pillar are the names of the fallen inscribed on bronze plaques. WW1 and WW2 additions have been placed on metal plaques attached to the base on the 6 o'clock side.

    Maintenance History
    2008: Base of the memorial was painted white to cover up grafitti as a cost-cutting measure rather than cleaning it off. This was met with protests from the community and requests to get the work reversed have failed as it would be too costly according to the council. 1999: Names of the fallen which had been omitted from the memorial were added 1959: WW2 names added to the memorial
