    Description
    Stone obelisk on top of which is a globe surmounted by a winged victory. There are three steps to the base of the obelisk. On the 6 o'clock face are tow palm fronds in half-relief. On the 12 o'clock face a shallow, plain cross is carved into the stone. At the foot of the column, and above the pedestal are words inscribed. The dedication is on a polished tablet which leans against the main pedestal, with a leaf carved in relief on either side. The inscription for 1939-45 is on the riser of the step below. Lettering is incised and painted gold, using Roman capitals.
