    Description
A rectangular cuboid plinth, one face of which bears the incised commemorative WW1 inscription ; the other three faces bear the inscribed names to which it refers. Beneath the commemorative WW1 inscription, a separate bronze plaque is fixed to commemorate those who fell in the Second World War (whose names are not inscribed). N.B. When the memorial was erected, the plinth was the base for a cast bronze figure of a soldier, holding a rifle in his left hand and his helmet aloft in his right hand, with the debris of war around his feet. The bronze figure was destroyed in a fire in 2004; however, as the plinth was stored in a different location, it still exists.
