    Description
    Cross shaped plinth surmounted by octagonal column and bronze statue of peace standing on a dragon. On the four corners of the plinth are bronze seated figures of a soldier, a sailor, a nurse and a prisoner of war. Each statue is one and a half times life size. Whole stands on a paved area with three steps leading up to it on one side. WW1 inscription carved around the top of the plinth and WW2 inscription is on a bronze plaque on the plinth below the soldier figure. A VC memorial stone to Reverend Theodore Hardy has been laid into the paved area.

    (Top of plinth): IN PROUD AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF EXETER AND DEVON WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919 THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE (Plaque): THIS TABLET IS DEDICATED/ TO THE MEMORY OF/ THOSE WHO FELL IN THE/ SECOND WORLD WAR/ 1939 - 1945
