Description: Cenotaph with inset life-sized figure of soldier in high relief in niche. Soldier rests on arms reversed, bareheaded. Helmet rests at his feet. Carved wreaths on three other faces of cenotaph, with latin cross about wreath on rear face. Arms of Burslem carved in relief at top of front face.
Inscription: (6 O'CLOCK FACE): 1914 - 1918 (9 O'CLOCK FACE): THEIR NAME LIVETH/ FOR EVERMORE (12 O'CLOCK FACE): BURSLEM'S/ MEMORIAL TO HER/ HEROIC SONS/ 1914 - 1918/ 1939 - 1945 (3 O'CLOCK FACE): THEY DIED/ THAT/ WE MIGHT LIVE
