Description: A low granite wall with bronze plaques of list of the dead, central squat pedestal with bronze kneeling angel in flowing robes holding sword and olive branch, showing Peace. Figures of grief & war mounted on end pillars. The forecourt consists of a paved area and small garden, all partially fenced off from the roadside pavement with metal railings. Post finials alternate in the forms of a perched lion and a sphere.
Inscription: GLORY TO GOD: HONOUR THE DEAD/PEACE AFTER VICTORY/TO THE MEMORY OF THE LEICESTERSHIRE MEN/WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY/SOUTH AFRICA, 1899-1902
