    Description
    Base surmounted by seated shrouded life sized female nude. Faint traces of a wheel and a horse on the reverse. Carved in relief on the front of plinth is a depiction those who served. Glass mosaic tiles placed in a circle around the base of the plinth.

    DEC 2004; RESTORED AND UNVEILED 2004: GRANT APPLICATION TO ENGLISH HERITAGE TO REPAIR THE MEMORIAL. THE MEMORIAL IS IN BADLY ERODED AND THE LOW RELIEF CARVING ON THE FRONT OF THE PLINTH HAS DISAPPEARED. THERE IS SOME LICHEN AND OTHE BIOLOGICAL GROWTH ON THE MEMORIAL. 1968: SCULPTURE WAS BADLY DAMAGED DUE TO VANDALISM. THE PLINTH AND FIGURE WERE PUSHED OVER RESULTING IN MAJOR BREAKS IN THE FIGURE. MEMORIAL WAS SUBSEQUENTLY REPAIRED. 1921: SCULPTURE SUFFERED SOME MINOR DAMAGE DUE TO VANDALISM
