Inscription: TO THE GLORY OF GOD / AND THE DEAR MEMORY OF THE / MEN OF HOYLAKE / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR OF 1914-18 / THIS CROSS IS DEDICATED BY / THOSE WHO LOVED THEM/"THEY LEFT ALL THAT WAS DEAR TO THEM; ENDURED / HARDNESS, FACED DANGER, AND FINALLY PASSED / OUT OF SIGHT OF MEN BY THE PATH OF DUTY / AND SELF-SACRIFICE."
