    Description
    In the gardens, south of the Library, a rough hewn base and plinth surmounted by a white marble figure of a soldier resting on arms reversed. Inscription on the plinth in raised black lettering.

    1999: VANDALISED FOR A SECOND TIME AND BADLY DAMAGED AS A RESULT. LOCAL CRAFTSMAN IS CARRYING OUT THE REPAIR WORK ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS 2017. October. The figure has been repaired but is showing signs of 'wear'. Penzance Council are looking for a long term solution to keep the memorial in good order. 2023: Memorial recently damaged
