A rectangular nowy-headed brass plaque longer about the horizontal axis ,set on a backboard of green mottled marble . All the detail is incised , mainly coloured black with the main initials and headings in red , Around the edge is a wide foliate border , outlined in red with leaves and fruits on a black background . At the top is the badge of the Bedfordshire Regiment , then the first part of the dedication , followed by the names in eleven columns headed by the ranks and unit designations .Below these columns is the second part of the dedication .
