Description: Rectangular brass plaque , the vertical axis longer , set on a black marble backboard . At the top is the badge of the Bedfordshire Regiment , followed by the first part of the dedication . There follows the names of the fallen , in two columns , grouped by campaign and within that by rank . Finally the second part of the dedication . All is within a narrow foliate border . The names , dedication , border and badge are incised and coloured black
Inscription: TO THE HONOUR AND GLORY OF ALMIGHTY GOD / AND SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THE UNDERNAMED / NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE 1ST BATTN. BEDFORDSHIRE REG / WHO DIED WHILE SERVING WITH THE FOLLOWING EXPEDITIONS / ON THE NORTH WEST FRONTIER OF INDIA 1892-8 OR / THROUGH THE EFFECTS OF DISEASE CONTRACTED ON THEM, / ISAZAI FIELD FORCE 1892 / (names) / THE CHITRAL RELIEF FORCE 1895 / (names) / THE TIRAH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE 1897-8 / (name) / THIS MEMORIAL IS ERECTED AS A TOKEN OF REGARD BY THE OFFICERS / WARRANT AND NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE BATTN.
