Description
Wall mounted, landscape oriented, nowy-headed engraved plaque. A decorative foliate and floriate patterned border, interrupted by a regimental insignia at top centre and a square floral design at each corner, encloses the inscription area. First letter of principal inscription words infilled with red enamel paint and the remaining text infilled with black enamel paint.

Regimental insignia at top centre: NISI DOMINUS FRUSTRA / THE KING'S OWN BORDERERS // Inscription: IN LOVING MMORY OF FRANCIS ALEXANDER KINGLAKE FOSTER, / SECOND LIEUTENANT KING'S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS, ONLY SON OF EDWARD JOHN FOSTER and MARY, HIS WIFE, / HE WAS SHOT BY THE ENEMY JANUARY 12TH 1890, WHILE ON ACTIVE SERVICE, WITH HIS REGIMENT, / ON THE CHIN-LUSHAI EXPEDITION, UPPER BURMA, IN THE 23RD YEAR OF HIS AGE. / HIS BODY RESTS IN TAUNGTEK ON THE CHIN HILLS. / "Until the day break, and the shadows flee away."
