- Freestanding rough hewn black marble tablet mounted on four red brick built steps Left side of the memorial face bears a copper type metal engaved rectangular plate depicting a scene with a barrage balloon, searchlight beams and spitfires over St Pauls Cathedral and the London skyline Right side of the face bears the commemorative inscription to mark the fiftieth aniversary of the Battle of Britain
