Marble tablet with triangular pediment and supported by two corbels. It is set on a black backboard with a wreath and swags carved in relief on the pediment.
Inscription
SACRED / TO THE MEMORY OF / WALTER GOODWIN HAWKINS ESQR / CAPTAIN FIFTEENTH REGIMENT OF FOOT, / DIED 28TH MAY 1863, / AT FREDERICTON NEW BRUNSWICK / AGED 27 YEARS. / ERECTED BY HIS BROTHER OFFICERS, IN TOKEN OF THEIR ESTEEM AND AFFECTION.
